Camp Descriptions

Scenario Camps

All Development Camps follow the same schedule:   Pro Crease Goaltending prides itself on being the most progressive thinking goaltending school in the country. We feel there are 4 important topics that will separate goaltenders in the coming years: Momentum Management, Puck Engagements - Touches, Traffic and Late Man Rushes; each day of camp will revolve around a singular topic. Pro Crease Goaltending will deconstruct and teach each topic through video analysis while matching drills on the ice will make for a very unique and one-of-kind camp experience.

Qunnipiac Immersion Camp

AAA & Elite goaltenders born 2003 - '05 will get to spend "a day in the life" of a NCAA Division I collegiate goaltender. Each day the Pro Crease Goaltending staff, along with special guest coaches from various NCAA Division I schools, will prepare campers for a different college opponent. This includes team specific video, scout sheet and relevant on ice drills. The goaltenders will also spend time learning how to take care of their bodies through various off ice conditioning activities. All goaltenders will be challenged with a fully staffed group of elite shooters.

2:1 Ratio Camp

The 2:1 Ratio Camp is back for the 10th consecutive summer, this year it will be held at Milford Ice in Milford, CT. Every year this camp sells out with a waiting list. Three hours of daily ice time in a 2:1 ratio makes for an extremely intimate camp experience.

Two videos sessions coupled by the low goaltender to coach ratio on ice each day will allow each goaltender to come away from this camp experience knowing their game and what it will take elevate it to the next level.

Frozen 72 Camp - Men’s

Our third annual Frozen 72 Overnight Camp for men will take place on the beautiful campus of the South Kent School located in South Kent, CT from August 5-8th. We are intentionally limiting the size of this camp in order to provide a premier experience. Toward that end, we will take 16 highly committed goaltenders (ages 16 - NCAA) to the South Kent School for 72 hours of an extremely specific and individualized goaltending camp experience. A close ratio of coaches to students will insure 72 hours of an outstanding and safe experience. This camp has sold out quickly each year and we expect similar demand this season - register early!

Also included in the Frozen 72 will be a 6 week long vision training package by Vizual Edge. This is the same vision training utilized by multiple NHL teams and players!

Evening Camps

The AOF and Stamford Evening Camps are designed with the busy parent and/or camper in mind. Goaltenders train on the ice for two hours each day. Evening Camp coaches are the very same staff who run our Development Camps with a coach to camper ratio of no less than 3:1. Dr. Jason Emery will also run two mental performance sessions for all goaltenders.

*Dr. Jason Emery is a psychologist/performance coach and Owner of Northeast Psych in West Hartford, CT. His practice focuses on working with athletes to develop skills and techniques to tackle the emotional and psychological part of the game by cultivating resiliency and growth mindset.

What’s Being Said About Our Summer Camps

The overall Elite Week experience was awesome. Our son said it was the best camp he’s ever attended. As a young high school goalie, it was very beneficial for him to see other goalies at the very highest levels, including professional goalies, putting in their work/training and doing the same drills he was doing as well as receiving the same training.
— John Lewis - West Hartford, CT

As our goaltending coach, Jared Waimon brings a keen understanding of what it takes to be a successful goalie. Whether it be his on-ice technical knowledge or his ability to pass along the all important off-ice mental piece, Jared is a key member of our coaching staff and responsible for the excellent goaltending we’ve had since he joined our staff five years ago.
— Rand Pecknold, Quinnipiac University Head Ice Hockey Coach 2013 & 2016 NCAA Finalist, 2016 NCAA & ECAC Coach of the Year

Both as a player and now as a coach, the thing I love and have grown from the most at Pro Crease camps is the open dialogue about both concepts and drills. Jared has created an environment where the goalies are challenged to attack situations and problem solve, coaches are challenged to present those problems in new and different ways. Technical skills are important but being able to apply those skills in uncomfortable situations is the whole point of goaltending and Pro Crease does an amazing job combining those two elements.
— Alex Westlund, Washington Capitals Goaltending Development Coach

I have consistently worked with Jared and the Pro Crease team since I was 9 years old. I always look forward to their summer camp because it’s where I build on and refine my skills before the season starts.
— Spencer Knight, USA Hockey NTDP & Boston College Commit

Pro Crease Goaltending Camps helped me prepare and perform while I played at Harvard; they helped lay the groundwork I used to play professionally today.
— Stephen Michalek, 2011 Minnesota Wild Draftee
