"More people are playing hockey in the United States than
ever before, thanks in part to the increasing popularity of the NHL."
Equally important is the emergence of women’s hockey with young girls from grade school to college, the Olympics and professionals. Most youth organizations, public and private high schools and colleges now have women’s programs.
"While some youth and even high school sports have seen declining participation in recent years, there’s one sport that has been growing at a record pace and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Girls hockey is on the rise as more female players are taking to the ice and getting the chance to play not just with the boys, but also on their own girl’s teams from the time they’re first old enough to lace up the skates all the way through high school.”
As an acknowledgement of the growing participation rate of girls/women of all ages, PCG held its inaugural women’s camp in 2017 that featured elite college coaches from top-ranked programs such as Cornell University, Boston College, and players from the 2017 World Championship Gold Medal winning USA Hockey women’s team and new professional National Women’s Hockey League (the Connecticut Whale are founding members). Our commitment to women’s hockey is so strong that we have a specially designed logo used to promote our women’s programs (see below).
